UPL has officially opened its brand new Grangemouth Service Centre where it will inspect and repair an estimated 4 million CHEP pallets per annum.
This new facility will operate on a 3 shift basis and employ over 70 workers. New “state of the art” machinery has been installed and UPL and CHEP’s considerable knowledge and experience in the area of efficient pallet inspection and repair operations has been used in designing the plant layout and machinery.
Unit Pallets was established in 1968 and operates from a ten acre site in Golborne, Warrington and a new site at Grangemouth opened in June 2009 solely for inspecting and repairing pallets. The Company has a policy of investing in high quality machinery, drying and timber stock so as to provide a professional and efficient service to its customers.

Heat
Treatment and Drying Kilns
Unit Pallets Limited was the first manufacturer of pallets in the UK to offer Kiln Dried pallets. The company has recently installed a further two BES Bollman Kiln which has taken the number of on-site kilns to four, including three high capacity and highly efficient BES Bollman Kilns, increasing the company’s pallet drying capacity to the highest in the UK. We now have the capacity to heat treat and/or dry all newly manufactured or repaired pallets, and can heat treat/kiln dry customers' pallets, packaging and timber.
